The Poeple's Prize

The BVMA aims to make its inaugural violin and bow making competition to be both innovative and  stimulating for makers and players alike.
In order to promote the involvement of players and others interested visitors we have initiated the”   Pleople’s Prize”, sponsorded by the Tom Jenkins trust.
Quiet simply, every visitor to the exhibition of competition instruments and bows will be invited to  choose his or her own favorite for whatever reason,
and cast a vote for it in the ballot box provided.
Those who wish to try the violin and bow will be accommodated as far as possible, so the choice can be made on playing qualities as well as visual impressions.
Maybe a particular or bow will catch the public eye for some quirk of character or style, which our professional judges ignore. Or maybe the public and the professionals will be in accord over the outstanding exhibit.
So whatever aspect of the violin or bow is omportan to you, you can have your say.
The votes will be counted and the popular choice announced at the Prize Giving Concert on 4 April in the Duke’s Hall. The prize to the maker is a worthwhile £250,
as well as the honour of being “the people’s choice”, wathever the experts might think! We would like the public to make its own selection. It provides a distinctive prize in the competition that may be just the encouragement that
some otherwise unrecognised maker needs. [ ... extrait du programe ].[ > Quelques vues du violon ]
